Several terms arise related to the Japanese military's early aircraft carriers which were constructed starting about 1920.
- Amagi-class battle cruisers
- Akagi - perhaps the most important of these
- Others planned: Amagi, Atago, and Takao.
- Kaga, a related "Tosa-class" battleship and aircraft carrier
