Flight Technology Association in Steiermark

The Flugtechnischer Verein in Steiermark or Flight Technology Association in Steiermark was founded 10 Nov. 1909 in Graz, Styria, Austria-Hungary. Along with the Flugtechnischer Verein for Moravia it was a branch or affiliate of the Oesterreichischen Flugtechnischer Verein (OeFV) or Austrian Flight Technology Association which was redesignated as the Kaiserlich-Koniglich Oesterreichischer Flugtechnischer Verein (K.k. Oesterreichischer Flugtechnischer Verien) (KkOeFV) or Imperial Austrian Flight Technology Association in 1911. In addition, in 1911, or possibly 1910, it joined the Oesterreichischer Luftschiffer Verban (OeLV) or Austrian Aeronaut Federation.

Initial officers, 1909, included Dr. Karl (or Carl) Rintelen, president; Prof. H. Benndorf, 1st vice president; Col. Scotti, 2nd vice president; Franz Smutny, 1st secretary and office manager; Max Kleinoscheg, 2nd secretary; Moritz Heider, 1st treasurer; and Julius Mayer, 2nd treasurer. Its official journal was Flug- und Motor-Technik.
