American patent agent Ernest C. Webb was the founder of Webb's Patent Agency and author of an 1883 book (or pamphlet) giving straightforward information to inventors.[1][2][3][4][5]
Webb's Patent Agency was at 22 Cliff Street, NYC, as of the 1883 book. (A longstanding patent law firm named for a different Webb is in Pittsburgh. Its history suggests that it's not the same firm.[6][7])
We infer the business had shut down by 1903 because the only Webb & Co. in the 1903 Roster was in Washington DC: [1]
