Ernest Heinrich Wemme was a German immigrant living in Portland, Oregon. He got involved in the automobile business. He became the Pacific Northwest agent for Curtiss biplanes.[1][2]

One of Wemme's employees, automobile salesmen Eugene Ely, volunteered to fly Wemme's first Curtiss biplane to Oregon. Ely crashed without serious injury. He also went to work for Curtiss [presumably the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Corporation].[3]

Wemme was the main promoter and organizer of the Portland exhibition, sponsored or hosted by the Fair and Livestock Commission in March 1910. The star was Charles Hamilton; some locals made minor flights as well. E. Henry Wemme was the main promoter and organizer of the show.[4]

The Portland Aeronautic Club seems to have been organized around this time, and Wemme was president of it.
