The Automobile Club of America was a predecessor of to the Aero Club of America.
At the end of 1904, the organization of 461 members awarded its first honorary membership, to Alberto Santos-Dumont for his work with dirigibles. In 1905 the ACA began working on forming an Aero Club.[1]
It created an Aviation Section in 1909.
