George Douglas Wardrop was the editor of Aerial Age Weekly and active in the aero community, promoting competitions, joining committees, etc.

In 1920 he coauthored Textbook of Aero Engines with E. H. Sherbondy. His memberships at the time, according to the title page, were Aerial League of America, Aero Club of America, Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Naval Engineers, Franklin Institute, etc.
