Dr. Josef Sablatnig (Austrian), who was a pilot and experimenter, was appointed as director.
The company shut down in 1915. After that, Dr. Sablatnig formed Sablatnig Flugzeugbau GmbH in Berlin. Union Flugzeugwerke was also the name of a later company formed in 1956 in Germany as registered company for Flugzeug Union Sud.
