Peru (PE) has a patent system effectively starting in 1896, and some pilots and Inventors.

Patent system

Martin Monsalve Zanatti of the Universidad del Pacífico made a presentation on the development of Peru's patent system at the EBHA 2019 conference ([1], [2]). He said the first patent laws in South America, by country, were: Brazil in 1830, Mexico 1832, Chile 1840, Paraguay 1845, Colombia 1853, Bolivia 1858, Argentina 1864, and Peru nominally 1869 but actually it didn't work till 1896 because Peru has civil wars and then external wars.

From Monsalve's presentation at EBHS 2024: Enrique Lazarte‎ of Peru had a Peruvian patent in 1915, and then foreign patents, on the subject of guns mounted on aircraft.

Early pilots

In terms of piloting, a Peruvian of Croatian and French descent stands out. Juan Bielovucic Cavalié was the founder of aviation in Peru. He enrolled at the Voisin brothers pilot school in 1908.
