Only about 1% of the person-records here are women. Evidence gathered on en.wp suggests this under-represents them.[1][2][3][4][5] Many sources and articles referred to on this site describe women in aviation; just search
- Belén Quezada -- originally from Costa Rica, and filed a 1911 aeroplane patent from San Jose, Calif
- Patent GB-1903-23380 - Louise Long, inventor
- Mmme Garnerin -- early aeronaut, before 1800
- Tannehill, 1908, First ascension by a woman in Canton -- not sure who this is, possibly Gladys M. Tannehill, but we think she's the AUTHOR not the aeronaut
