Karl Illner was a Bohemian airplane pilot and builder, working with Ignaz Etrich and producing Etrich type aircraft at Wiener Neustädter Flugfeld for Österreichische Motor-Luftfahrzeug-Gesellschaft and Österreichische Daimler Motoren A. G.. (The exact relationship between these companies is still not clear but apparently they shared a large space at the Flugfeld.)[1]
Illner made the first flight in an Etrich Taube, traveling 40m at 4m elevation.[2] He also flew a Taube at the Budapest exhibition in 1910, coming in third overall for height and fourth for distance.[3]
