John La Mountain, sometimes written LaMountain was an American balloonist of the Civil War era. He worked with John Wise.[1][2]
He had the title "aeronautic engineer" in 1862.[3] Is this the earliest known use of that title? Template:Firsts
Death date differs between sources -- 1870 or 1878.[4][3][5] Let's resolve that someday as best we can.
