George Sturgess was an aero inventor in Mabelthorpe, Linconshire, who invented (with some apparent participation by his wife, Charlotte) an "Aerial Wheel"—an aircraft which could also roll on the ground.

He reportedly tested a prototype of this aircraft at the 1912 British military trials.
