French patent agent Barbier was recorded as being at address rue de la Montat, 38, Saint-Étienne (Loire). He is noted representing, in 1878, as representing an inventor also designated merely by the surname Barbier, a surname which comes up a few times in the following generation.

We will note Charles-frédéric-léon Barbier, Amedée-Constant Barbier, and Louis Barbier.
