Aviation and Aeronautical Engineering was a semimonthly magazine, mainly focusing on airplanes, which began publication in August 1916. It was published in New York City by Gardner, Moffat Company, Inc. The war, of course, was a major theme.

Scans of volumes 1–9 (1916–1920) are available on HathiTrust. There are also a number of volumes on Interent Archive, continuing past this date, some of them found in the collection Aviation Week & Space Technology 1916-2016. (" Aviation Week & Space Technology is a trade journal published in United States focused on Aeronautics And Space Flight. This collection contains microfilm published between 1916 and 2016. The ISSN is 0005-2175. ")

The magazine published lists of aeronautical patents filed at the U.S. office: see, for example, "Aeronautical Patents" on January 15, 1917.
