Description of de La Landelle's life and works including novels and poetry. Includes a quotation from the eulogy by Jules Claretie for the Société des gens de lettres. Then de Villeneuve focues on de La Landelle's involvement with the circle which became the Société d'encouragement pour la locomotion aérienne au moyen d'appareils plus lourds que l'air. De La Landelle thought that helicopters were the key to heavier-than-air flight; de Villeneuve gives some background information about helicopters starting with Da Vinci.
