We have data from the period of the invention of the airplane and the start of the airplane industry: 600 letters between relevant participants ; 13K patents in the field ; 500 firms in the industry ; 500 nonprofit clubs or other societies ; many thousands of publications in the field ; at least 1K individual authors and patentees
We are constructing a social network analysis of many of these, when the data are good enough
Many of the indivduals have known locations, professions, specialities

kinds of nodes: individual inventors and authors ; orgs ; technologies
kinds of edges: patent authorship, letter authorship, publication authorship, is a member of the org; is a reader of the journal ; has common language as ; worked on same technology as
modularity, betweenness/centrality, closeness, in-degree, out-degree, and realized modularity for each KIND of node

- Other fields of data could be added, and other tables from this period -- inventors, publications, conferences, letters

focus on letters ; add language everywhere and locations where possible
AD will work on draft letters0a sample and will reorg the spreadsheet and show it in a giphy project file
later, selected patents and orgs for which the data are well filled in
