Société des aéronautes du siège de Paris

Founded in 1902, membership in the Société des aéronautes du siège de Paris or Society of Aeronauts of the Siege, the society was confined to persons who escaped from Paris by balloon during the siege of Paris, 1870-1871.

In 1903, the society had only 31 members. In 1906, honorary president was J. Janssen, president was Albert-Charles Tissandier, and vice-president was E. Cassiers.

The Aero Club of France in 1903 formed a committee to create a monument in their honor.[1]

In 1920 its address was recorded as 170 Rue Legenere, Paris.
