Siemens & Halske Aktiengesellshaft
Siemens & Halske (AG after 1897) was originally a telegraph company founded by Werner Siemens and Johann Georg Halske. It created Siemens-Schuckert Werke GmbH in 1903 when it acquired Schuckert & Co. The companies remained in close coordination, eventually merging back together in 1966 as Siemens AG.[1]
This firm, as Siemens & Halske Aktiengesellshaft per se, is coming up in our Hungarian data. Thus far, data entered under the corporate designation Siemens és Halske Részvénytársaság is earlier, and more sparse. This is a corporate complex, with the German-named incarnation, being used even within Hungarian data and on Hungarian originals, and being located in Berlin-Siemensstadt, and in Austria.[2] Siemens és Halske Részvénytársaság is located in Budapest.[3]
Regarding the German name, Hungarian type-entered website data gives “Siemens & Halske A.-G.”, but viewing the originals shows us that the “A.-G.” (or “AG”) in question is of the “Aktiengesellshaft” variety. See company types.
Unresolved references to priority patents, in so far as these may arise, may have to do with German patents for which applications were made, but not granted. Priority filing date references may also cross some of these lines of variable corporate nomenclature.
Precise relations with Siemens-Schuckert Werke GmbH, largely in terms of aero-applicable components, are yet to be elaborated.
