Robert Pohl was an aero inventor, a merchant, addressed at 70/74 Neuerwald, Hamburg, Germany, during the times of his aero filings. He seems to have had a brother, Felix Pohl, resident in Köln, Germany, with whom he filed in Austria, and elsewhere.
Based on some espacenet searching in pursuit of any possible aeronautic filing in his home country, his work with motors, came up, along with his affiliation with the British Phoenix Dynamo Manufacturing Company, Ltd., based in York, who may or may not have been involved in aviation.
Work with motors, and electricity, seems to have been more sustained, with some aero applications.
