Rhône
Département Rhône is situated within what is presently région française Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.[1] Département Rhône had been situated within Rhône-Alpes until 1 January 2016 at which point this région française was fused with the also now former région administrative Auvergne.[2]
Presently, there is a Métropole de Lyon, a status according to which ab area extending from the city shares the capacity of the département français and that of the Métropole (intercommunalité française). This has only been the case since 1 January 2015. During the period upon which we are focused, Lyon was simply a commune within département Rhône. The period data will come to us in that manner.
