Force of the engine is transmitted intermittently, in impulses ; collars, flywheel, serrated teeth, flywheel, gyroscope on the propeller shaft ; force is transmitted to one side of collar, when then is in contact periodically with the other ; effect is to change gear.
It seems simple and wouldn't have those effects. I don't understand.
