  • Here is it assumed that the "Registration date" in the Dutch patent database has the same meaning as "grant date".
  • Inventor location: Olst, Netherlands
  • This record was found by searching the Netherlands patent office register for category 62 (per AvionHerbert) and an ending date of 31/01/1919
  • The URL to the record of a patent in the Dutch Patent Office online system seems to be reliable over time, although it's very long as if it had temporary tokens in it.
  • The offer of a "Dossier" in that system is meant to be a link to the patent specification document, which we would like to see, but in these historic patents it doesn't seem to work. However espacenet has these.

Note regarding IdT classification: Upon comparing data given on the Dutch website and data shown on the original as displayed on Espacenet, it is evident that Indeling der Techniek 62 has been applied retroactively, within the Dutch database, in the interests of bridging the antique Dutch classification with contemporary (to us) searches largely based upon "IPC". This will happen further, largely with subclassifications such as NL 62.15 playing a significant role. In the case of this particular patent, the original shows NL 74a.19. These antique-modern interdatabase factors will be key to bear in mind.

Notes to AH: thanks for 62 and 1124? ; use suffix c, e.g. Original patent document and bibliography entry on espacenet, long URLs seem stable; I think registration date = grant date; a note on register systems in scandinavia

(Yes, this is a problem. The Netherlands patent register contains both viable and non-viable Espacenet links. The viable links links go to the right patent. The non-viable links go "An error has occurred - not found". When this occurs, we can and should search the number "manually" on Espacenet, but it will generally be a different patent. The c&FT=D Original patent document and c bibliography entry on espacenet protocol will "work", but relative to the wrong patent. I like to use the Netherlands patent register, as a source, and, when proper, to use Espacenet as a further source. Some digitization data-entry problem might have occurred within the Dutch uploading and organization of patents, maybe something between patent numbers and registration numbers(?), or there might be some other explanation. I've only noticed that when the Dutch link to Espacenet works, the data is proper, and when it leads to "An error has occurred - not found", the above happens.)
