The invention is a hinge, intended for aeroplanes. It's not transparent why the invention is particularly relevant to aircraft. Part of the description: "A socket adapted to be fitted around a tube in order to combine" a hinge with the tube. Manufacture is by extruding pressing, drawing, or otherwise working the metal socket. The socket is "advantageously" manufacturers in two sections which are then welded together. More details on page one.
