This patent has to do with further improvements on the principles articulated in Patent GB-1913-3848. Among other things, this patent adds gyroscopes further in the aid of the automatic stability acheived in the parent patent by way of aerodynamic design and wing warping. This will need to be revisited, but it is of note that Walkden's emphasis on automatic stability can be seen as an exquisite and multi-angled approach to a subsystem, while still having all this work well-integrated into the totality of the aircraft's design, aerodynamically and otherwise, then focusing in on particular devices such as the gyroscope and on his already familiar wind-actuated “fans”, all, again, in the elaborately addressed of automatic airplane stability.
