Planes, construction of; propelling.-An aerial machine has wings formed of members jointed together like a bird's wing, the member nearest the fuselage being adapted to move in a conical path without rotating on its own axis so as to give a beating motion to the wing. Means for folding and unfolding the wings are provided, and a propeller may be used for driving the machine when the wings are rigidly extended. . . ."
