  • from abstract at google patents: "Screw propellers. For altering and reversing the angle of propeller blades suitable for aircraft &c., the blades are fitted with flanges 6<1> fitting in recesses in a two-part hub. A sleeve 11, sliding on the motor shaft and under control of the driver, is fitted with sockets 13, 14 adapted to receive members having arms bent at right-angles, these arms being connected to arms 9, 10 keyed to the blade spigots, by links 17, 18. One part 3 of the hub is screwed on the motor shaft, and the other part 3' is pressed against the first part by nuts 5."
