Internal compartmentalization of a cigar-shaped airship, with additional ballonets for gas pressure regulation.

Over the framework, there is stretched a water and air proof covering which protects gas bags used within the ship, from the dangerous effects of rain and sun. These gas bags, which are held in the framework between the chambers, may be divided internally and longitudinally into several divisions; and at one end of each section, a balloonette or bag is provided, filled with atmospheric air; and on the gas expanding, the air is forced out through a valve, thus allowing the gas bag to expand without losing gas.
