"Actuating. - In connexion with an air-compressor 6 driven by the motor of an aeroplane, an escape cock 14 is opened when the pressure in the reservoir exceeds a predetermined amount, so that the compressor then runs idle and further compression is prevented. The cock is operated by a piston in the casing 15 subjected on one side to the pressure in the reservoir and on the other side to an adjustable spring, the piston operating through a slotted cross-head 18 and crank 20."
