(A vast structural lengthwise "beam" constitutes the nacelle of this aircraft. This is actually called a "poutre-nacelle". This is situated only slightly below the gas-containing bulk of the aircraft and is fairly well subsumed therein. Rigid cones, attached to this beam-nacelle at either end, facilitate the form of the overall surface and aid in the lowering of control or lift ballonets, the envelope modifying its section under the increase in exterior pressure thanks to the weight of the beam-nacelle. The circular forward armature segments are "élastiques" and thereby compliant with the oscillations in envelope shape. All apparatus of propulsion, control, defense and attack are situated within the "poutre-nacelle".)
