Clarification of brake and brake pad arrangement. During landing, the pilot rotates the brake pad to form a wedge with the ground, thus using the airplane's own force to brake and reducing the pilot's effort to a minimum. These brake services can optionally include anchoring spikes (crampons formant grappins) which disperse the force exerted on the device by the ground.
