Modern translations of "Laufgang" suggest it is a walkway or passageway for people, which might apply here; however the emphasis in the patent is on the system of braces used within the keel. The secondary definition of Laufgang on de.wiktionary is "eine Art Brücke zwischen einem Transportmittel (Flugzeug/Schiff) und dem Boden, die dem leichteren Einsteigen dient", i.e., an access ramp—but that does not seem to be what's intended here. (Meanwhile, "ausgebildet" commonly means trained or educated, also not the intended meaning here. "Developed into" might be closer.)
