Received letters dated 14 March and 25 March—though late, due to flooding of Dayton, which brought 10–12' of water to the street outside the Wright office. Many things ruined; some books etc. saved. Elsewhere, damage is widespread and calamitous.

"I shall be interested in learning what the War Department has to say in reply to your letter."
