Maurice John de Courcy Dodd described himself as a civil engineer. He filed at least one patent from Elmfort, Castlelrea, County Roscommon, Ireland.[1]

Other sources suggest that he lived from 1874 to 1962, and worked as a clerk in the 1890s for the Royal Niger Company (possibly in Africa), and filed a lawsuit in 1905.[2][3][4]
