Two American patent firms named Knight Bros. are listed in the 1906 Roster of registered U.S. patent attorneys (p. 61).:

  • Knight Bros., 908 G street NW, Washington, D.C., registration number 467; and
  • Knight Bros., 20 Broad street, New York, NY, registration number 1710.

There are thirteen individual "Knights" listed in the same year. Of these:

The firm was started by Edward H. Knight—an engineer, surgeon, and patent attorney who went to work for the Patent Office in 1863 and masterminded the classification revision of 1872—and his brother, George H. Knight.[1]

In 1886 the firm's New York address was 234 Broadway. Herbert Knight opened this branch in 1883.[1]

In 1869 the Washington branch, then located at 406 F Street, near Seventh, was run by Octavius Knight, formerly of Munn & Co., as advertised in the Journal of the Franklin Institute.[2]

Some of these Knights are listed in a family genealogy published in 1951.[3]

There is also a Knight patent acquisition company, referred to as Knight American Patents Company so far only observed here: Patent US-1924-1488894. The company's listed as being in Chicago suggesting it's different from either of the above companies.
