Joseph von Korwin

Joseph von Korwin, sometimes written Joseph Ritter von Korwin, Joseph de Korwin, or Joseph De Korwin-Sokolowski was an aero inventor. His British patents say he was a Captain in the Austro-Hungarian Army, but he filed his patents from 12 rue de Castiglione, Paris. A source referring to the Sokolowski name says he was a Polish nobleman. Indeed the "Ritter" term is usually an honorific not a name.
