John Wills Cloud
John Wills Cloud was a British inventor who filed numerous patents internationally (including in Spain, France, and Finland). His first series of patents, in 1903–6, concerned railway brakes. He continued filing prolifically, including patents for compressed air, and was working in aeronautics by 1909.
His patents most relevant to aero are described as improvements for propulsion systems of land, water, or aerial vessels, and generally have to do with balancing out the action of the propulsion system in order to increase general stability.
