Jeanne-Geneviève Garnerin

Jeanne-Geneviève Garnerin, née Labrosse, is credited as the first woman parachutist and balloonist.[1] Her husband André-Jacques Garnerin is credited with inventing the parachute; she filed the patent in 1802.

Her niece Élisa Garnerin also became a well-known balloonist.
