Jean-Baptiste-Émile Dorand was a French aero inventor located at rue d'Angiviller, 37, Versailles, département Seine-et-Oise, France.[1] We may find more on this inventor. As is, a sustained interest in automatic aircraft (or airplane) stability, in general and as pertaining to landing, seems to be key. Patent FR-1908-412632 and Patent FR-1908-412632.12824 address this problem by way of a flexible connection between the cockpit/nacelle of the aircraft and the aircraft more generally or to the wings in particular. Patent FR-1912-450428 addresses the same problem by way of the combined use of an instrument determining wind direction (and this is in the context also inclusive of wind resistance faced by the aircraft in flight) and an instrument measuring acceleration. Just beyond our years of primary Dorand went on to do some work with apparatus intended towards the maintainance of constancy in the carburetors of internal combustion engines of airships.
