Two essays, the first of which introduces the new journal, of which Hervé is director. The second on the present state of aeronautics. (Which latter was translated into German and published in the Zeitschrifft für Luftschiffahrt: Hervé, 1887, Der gegenwärtige Stand der Luftschiffahrt.)
(Hervé mourns the unscientificness of the daily press, which writes with authority "de omni re scibili et quibusdam aliis" – about every knowable thing and some other things besides – old joke apparently – the German editors left it in Latin/Italian.)
