Henry “Hap” Arnold

Henry Harley (“Hap”) Arnold was trained as a pilot by the Wright Company in 1911, and became one of the first military pilots. He was influential in the development of military aviation. He became Assistant Chief of the U.S. Air Corps by 1937 and later General of the U.S. Army and General of the U.S. Air Force.

One work describes him as an firebrand ally or follower of Billy Mitchell‎ regarding military air power.
