The first of these apparently ended October 17, 1909. There had been 380 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors. It had been set up by Gustave Rives; hosted by new trade association Chambre Syndicale de L'industrie Aéronautique. In later editions this becomes known among anglophones as the Paris Air Show.

The 3rd of these expositions, our 3rd Paris aviation exhibition‎ was open from 16 December 1911 through 2 January 1912.

We are gathering information on the serial nature of these expositions. Patent FR-1912-427852.15710 of August Brauer gives us « Certificat de garantie délivré le 30 décembre 1911 à M. Brauer, à l’occasion de la 3e EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE DE LOCOMOTION AÉRIENNE ouverte du 16 décembre au 2 janvier 1912. – Déclaration du déposant. ». No similar reference is made on the parent patent Patent FR-1911-427852. his « Certificat de garantie », whatever its legal significance, predates the filing of the addition itself. This « Certificat de garantie », whatever its legal significance, was delivered during the exposition and predates the filing of the addition itself, that is, according to the testimony of the inventor.

Patent FR-1912-443982.15932‎ makes a similar reference.

How these administrative and proprietary matters were integrated into the other aspects of the expositions are matters yet to be determined. Broadly, such recognition as that given in the examples above, may have played a role in the grandly ceremonial aspect of an exposition, as such, within the community of conceptually inspired aero-innovators, as semi-distinct from the as it were merely legalistic exigencies of the French government and the details of its administrative culture.

It may have served as an as it were interface between the culture of innovation and officially legal and proprietary matters. Needless to say, these events tie into any phenomena of the social network.
