Edmond Bénel was an aero inventor filing from Rosnes, par Condé-en-Barrois, département Meuse, France.[1] We have him in connexion with a "Rotating wing applying to flying machines and windmills", though this is a propeller with individually and variably rotating blades. Both the initial brevet and the two additions were all give solidly aeronautical classification FR 6.4, a posteriori IPC and CPC Espacenet data allows for the parent being applicable beyond aero while treating the additions as exclusively aero. We could look into this further. It seems that the thinking of the inventor evolved towards this exclusively aeronautical application.
