Donát Bánki ("Bánki Donát" in proper Hungarian, and sometimes further Westernized as "Banki Donat") was a Hungarian aero-inventor, a Teacher or Professor located at Polytechnic, Budapest, Hungary.[1] We have him exclusively, thus far, in connexion with his work on autamatic aircraft stability, revolving around one patent family, though Espacenet has him filing somewhat extensively beyond aero.

Hungarian patent data gives us material analogous to the British data, more specifically, Teacher, or Professor (Tanár), “Bánki Donát Műegyetemi Ny. R. Tanár Budapesten”.[2] “Műegyetemi” equals “University of Applied Sciences” or “University of Technology”. “Ny. R.” appears fairly frequently within Hungarian Wikipedia, though we are not sure of its precise significance as a qualifier between the University type and the Professorial type. Interlingusitic Wikipedia exploration leads to some complexity which we would like to hone down to something we could formalize into our “affiliations” field below, as pertinent to this inventor.
