L'abbé Jean-Martin Demongeot was an aero inventor located at Orges, département Haute-Marne.[1]

We also have him located at Mézières, France, "Mézières" exist currently as an element within several compound place names.[2] We are currently having difficulty accessing this original, which access would give us département data, not to mention the first name of the inventor. Data no longer visible pertinent to Patent FR-1838-5429.3 gives "Maizières", département Ardennes, France. This same factor of name element within compound names applies to this spelling as well. There is a Maizières, département Haute-Marne, France, which would seem more likely. We would like to see the original. INPI.fr has gone through some changes.

Based on content, it is likely that this inventor, filing these patents, and L'abbé Demongeot, author of Demongeot, 1839, Locomotives inexploslves et direction à volonté de l'aérostat, and J. Demongeot, author of Demongeot, 1847, Navigation aérienne, ou direction des aérostats dans l'air, are all the same individual.
