Cayley, 1843, On the principles of aërial navigation

Published in the issue following Cayley, 1843, Retrospect of the progress of aërial navigation and demonstration of the principles by which it must be governed; and also addressing Henson's Patent GB-1842-9478.

Cayley thinks Henson's design is too big and that, at that scale, balloons will be more effective for transporting cargo long distances.

This article contains some illustrations which Cayley writes are a schematic for discussion and theoretical consideration more than a finished design.
