Carl Edgar Myers was a balloonist and inventor from Mohawk, New York, who collaborated with his wife, Mary "Carlotta" Myers.
Myers was chosen to be director of aeronautics at the St. Louis World's Fair but was soon replaced due to accusations of obnoxious behavior. Nevertheless the Myerses continued to participate in the exhibitions, with occasional drama arising from friction with the organizers.[1]
