A. G. Bell's summer home, called Beinn Breagh, was in Baddeck, a village on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.
The Bells formed the Beinn Breagh estate in 1886—1892, using this land as the launching point for many experiments with kites and other aircraft.[1]
When Bell founded the Aerial Experiment Association, this organization did much of its work in Baddeck (as well as at Glenn Curtiss's workship in Hammondsport, New York). The AEA's aircraft Silver Dart was flown in Baddeck in 1909.
