We are dealing with some very rough antique material when we go back this far with Belgian material. Patent BE-1831-1533 indicates that BE 11e differentiates into the aerostatic field, whereas BE 11 seems to be more broadly mechanical, inclusive of steam propulsion and so forth, with no exclusive emphasis on aeronautics. We have significant indication that this patent classification system was evolving. BE 9, for instance, also deals with steam propulsion.
