Auguste Camille Edmond Rateau

Auguste Camille Edmond Rateau, sometimes known as simply Auguste Rateau, was born in Royan, département Charente-Inférieure, 13 October 1863, deceased in Neuilly-sur-Seine 13 January 1930[1], whom we have as an Engineer addressed at 40, rue du Colisée, Paris, France.[2]

French patent data has him as simply located within département Seine.[3]

Austrian patent data has him as simply located in Paris.[4] All of this comports. Interestingly, it was the title of this last-filed member of an international patent family which spotlighted the aero-applicability.

He followed his studies, first at l'École polytechnique where he was admitted in October 1881, then at l'École des mines de Paris.[1]

He was on the Aviation Committee of the Société française de navigation aérienne.

He was at some point the president of that organization.[1]
