August Platte

August Platte was an aero booster and founder of the Wiener Flugtechnischer Verein. He was also Generaldirectionsrat of the k.k. Staatsbahnen (i.e. imperial highways).

WorldCat gives the lifespan 1831-1903, place of birth Enns, and place of death Vienna, and identifies him as an Engineer. German Wikipedia gives the same lifespan and identifies him as an Austrian technician.
