August Platte

August Platte was an aero booster and founder of the Wiener Flugtechnischer Verein. He was also Generaldirectionsrat of the k.k. Staatsbahnen (i.e. imperial highways).[1]

WorldCat gives the lifespan 1831-1903, place of birth Enns, and place of death Vienna, and identifies him as an Engineer.[2] German Wikipedia gives the same lifespan and identifies him as an Austrian technician.[3]
